The language, the architecture, the food still reflects the Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arabs and Norman influences, in this busy crossroads of History. With its multitude of ancient towns and villages, churches and monuments, diversified coastline and rural landscape Salento is at once central and land’s end, open and close, capable of assimilating cultures from afar and yet strong in finding creative ways to protect its own evolving identity.

Lecce
Far from the tourist’s paths, Lecce’s Province attracts also a bustling culture life due to the well renowned University, many theatres and multidisciplinary art spaces. That is why the setting of artists residency programs has proved to be successful both for the artists involved and the local community. Providing housing, studios, technical support, media attention we aim to allow artists’ creativity to fully express. In order to benefit the local community, we ask artists to share their knowledge through workshops, lectures and convivial moments.
